I'm in the market for a new jacket, and I thought I'd found the perfect one while shopping around the other day. A black cotton thing, just in my size, with all the buckles and buttons and bits and bobs that I like on a jacket... I was turning it over while waiting in line at the checkout when I noticed the text printed on a little inner tag. OUTER: 100% COTTON. INNER LINING: 100% POLYESTER. TAG: 100% SILK.
Wtf? The tag of all things? Something I'm liable to rip off as soon as I get home, anyway? Why not use literally any other fabric and leave the caterpillars out of it? i.imgur.com/fZGUg9z.gif
May or may not be worse than the time I found fish oil in orange juice. Or gelatin in frozen veggies. Read those labels, kids.
Just reminds me of the nature preserve around here I was all excited they have a bee habitat going with a protective fence around it for the bees inside. Then I read signs they were chemically treating the surrounding area in the nature preserve with who knows what to kill weeds... Yep I totally get your point, why make a tag out of silk. Is that just so people aren't stuck with a scratchy tag? I thought the solution was going tag-less on clothing. So bizarre!
Weed spraying in a nature preserve is so bizarre! How is a plant a weed if it's out in nature...? If they really needed to remove, say, an invasive species they'd be much better off gathering up some volunteers to pluck the plants by hand, rather than dousing poison everywhere and damaging who knows what other species...
There's a stand of wild black raspberries in a state forest near my house. Every year I like to pick a bushel and take them home. Tastiest fruit I've ever eaten. I couldn't this year, as when I arrived there was a whole crew of workers in hazmat-looking gear spraying the bushes down "for weed control". Made me concerned for all the wildlife that like to eat the berries.
this is such a good idea to buy anything like gloves or whatnot without a label or I guess goat skin is for some reason out there and I want to obviously have a non insect produced label (damn that is so stupid I thought about it that some even rip off I think)
Like goat skin decides if you get a 2 or a 3 level of warmth. So who really know I had to go level 2 to have my goat free way. Not sure but I will go with the goat free way! Might as well
Damn, and I really don't think chemical free cat litter is out there. Like baking soda cat litter seems to just have chemicals. I guess it is like laundry detergent in that kind of way...
Is this, this, or this type of cat litter available in your area? I've used them all in the past and they work quite well. (Just be warned if you have a dog, that the wheat-based type is apparently very appetizing to them... had to stop using it for that reason lol.) The recycled newspaper stuff is even more absorbent than clay imo.
I currently look for a sale at Petsmart. It doesn't seem that bad. It is just so confusing because i think the baking soda cat litter is misleading. It comes with a "febreeze scent" in it. Which I really don't want to go for. So I guess cost is an issue, but so far the only thing I've found that is a really good deal is this pet litter sale at Petsmart. I think it is around 12-13 dollars for a big tub. And it seems to work ok

Lomedin: Learned by chance that Kat Von D is vegan. Didn't have a clue who she was before.

Vegan: I'm on an antinatilist group and only found out about her on that. Had no idea who she was before as never heard of her.

cybernaut: Well, it can be a little hard for me to come here sometimes because of how negative things can get here. I realize there's much to be negative about, but it's still hard for me all the same.
