It is my first time om this forum, i am here because i need advice on something. One of my neighbors often abuses his dog, this time he abused the dog so bad that he broke the dog's leg. The whole family is covering up for him and pretend that the dog just hurt himself while running. Now the dog is in pain the family refuse to bring him to the vet because they do not want to spend money. I did not saw what happened but i heard the dog screamed in pain... I called the police, the county and also the Human society but they say they cannot do anything since i did witness the abuses. They say i should have recorded it.... What can i do ? This little dog is abuse everyday and no one wants to help him.
That's common, sadly. A lot of people abuse "their" animals, and organizations and officials won't do anything unless there is a lot of abuse and clear evidence (I guess it's similar with people, when police do nothing until someone gets killed after years of abuse).
Your best bet is, perhaps, trying to contact animal rights groups in your area (forget Humane Society and NGOs like that caring about money more than anything), real activists. Or, if you want to take the risk, try to get the dog out of there yourself, but nobody should know what you are up to and it's not even easy to find new homes for them beforehand many times, not to mention how hard it might be to get the dog in the first place, depending on the specific circumstances.
luckily we have an animal rescue. Ended up having to drop off a stray dog and a forgotten (or stray) cat. I think we donated [cash] like the time we had to give in a rescued kitten. I was impressed later on because they said cat's can't eat bacon in their diet. Only because we forgot to call it in we donated in that type of situation.
Otherwise you have to call in you dropping off an animal. So I guess one option is to ask to surrender the unwanted dog. I bet they would probably do it without a donation if it was injured and unwanted. Sad and outrageous! Very A-hole types that hurt a dog they don't want. It is unbelievably sad just to surrender the animal itself too!
You might have luck approaching it from a different angle; you can't get them for abuse if you don't have proof, but if you report them for neglect they'll sometimes send someone over to check in on the situation. Emphasize that the dog is injured and not receiving medical care, I think that legally qualifies as neglect in most parts of the US. (Assuming that's where you are.) Sometimes it helps to be persistent, keep on making complaints and oftentimes they'll get fed up and go out and check things out.
Good luck to you. I've dealt with a similar situation in the past, officials were totally useless even despite the fact that I had clear proof, including and *admission* from the person responsible... Sometimes, if you want anything done you need to do it yourself. :/
I was living in Kansas City last year with my brother before moving further west. We lived next to a couple who had a pitmix and left him outside in 5 degree weather with a frozen water dish and no food. He wound himself around a tree and couldn't take shelter. We called the city on them and the husband came over and started threatening until I put him in his place. I had a few words myself. It's sad these people exist.

Lomedin: Learned by chance that Kat Von D is vegan. Didn't have a clue who she was before.

cybernaut: Well, it can be a little hard for me to come here sometimes because of how negative things can get here. I realize there's much to be negative about, but it's still hard for me all the same.
